A SUNSHINE paramedic has been honoured with Ambulance Victoria’s most prestigious award. Thuy Nguyen (pictured) has been recognised with the Rod Moore Memorial Award after being nominated by colleague Michael Georgiou.
Ambulance Victoria chief executive Greg Sassella said Thuy had put her previous shyness behind her.
“Thuy was deserving of this award because, while she displayed a high level of clinical ability and understanding as a paramedic, she was a very quiet, shy and gentle person who had yet to develop the ability to take charge and control at a scene,” he said.
“This she has done and is now a paramedic respected for her ability to take charge and deal with tough and verbally challenging patients.”
He said her ability to speak Vietnamese was also of great benefit in Brimbank.
