A MISSING link in Brimbank’s cycle network will soon be fixed as the council extends the Kororoit Creek Trail from Learmonth Crescent to Federation Trail in Sunshine West.
Works include a concrete path, bollards, signs and line-marking and will provide CBD access via the Federation Trail.
This follows the completion in November of a 1.8-kilometre extension of the trail in Deer Park, connecting with a new district park at Isabella Williams Reserve. Brimbank chairman Peter Lewinsky says the works leave only a short section in Cairnlea to be completed before residents can walk and cycle the full 17 kilometres through Brimbank.
“We’re doing our bit in Brimbank to connect the trail and now what is needed is for our community to go out and enjoy this fantastic waterway corridor.” The council is spending $240,000 and Parks Victoria $360,000 on the project, which is expected to be completed by June.
