A MAN accused of stabbing a good Samaritan after she stepped in to stop a fight on Sunshine railway station has appeared briefly in court this afternoon.
Mathew Hearn, 27, of Flemington, was arrested after allegedly stabbing a 61-year-old woman and a 15-year-old girl at the station at about 4.15pm yesterday.
He appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates Court charged with two counts of unlawful assault with a weapon, two counts of intentionally cause injury, two counts of recklessly cause injury and two counts of assault.
Hearn did not apply for bail and was remanded to April 16 by Magistrate Simon Garnett.
Hearn pulled his jumper over his head during the brief court appearance when told the media had applied for access to his charge sheet.
Both alleged victims were taken to hospital where they were in a stable condition.
