Volunteers clear rubbish

MORE than 500 bags of rubbish and recycled items were collected at 21 Melton Shire sites and eight schools as part of Clean Up Australia events from March 2-4.

Melton mayor Justin Mammarella said about 1000 students, 350 residents and 100 teachers rolled up their sleeves to improve the environment.

“It was a great community effort.”
