Point Cook shooting arrests

Homicide Squad detectives have charged a 29-year-old Irish national with one count of attempted murder after a 53-year-old man was shot in Point Cook on February 21. The Irish man was arrested at a Melbourne airport on March 10. A 30-year-old man and a 26-year-old man, both from Point Cook have been charged with one count of murder each in relation to the shooting.

Think Pink councillor

Wyndham Cr Kim McAliney has been appointed to the board of the Think Pink Foundation, which provides free services to people with breast cancer at the Think Pink Living Centre in Melbourne. Details: thinkpink.org.au

Truganina Thunder

The newest football club in Wyndham, Truganina Thunder, will join the Western Region Football League this year. The new club will be made up of mixed teams of boys and girls, ranging from under-8 to under-10. Player registrations will be open until March 25. The club is also seeking sponsorship from local businesses and help from residents in coaching and umpiring.
