Australia Day

Music, kid’s activities, a pop-up park and fireworks will help mark Australia Day 2018 in Werribee. The free event will be in Watton Street and Station Place, Werribee, on January 26 from 5-10pm. Art prize open

Applications are open for the 2018 Wyndham Art Prize. The major prize is worth $10,000, a people’s choice award $2000, two Deakin University bursaries, $4000 for a PhD candidate and $2000 for an honours or masters candidate. Entries are $35 and close 5pm, February 9, 2018. Details:

Detention centre event

The department of justice is hosting an information session about the youth detention centre planned for Werribee. Attendees will be able to speak to representatives and ask questions on December 6 from 5.30-7.30pm at the Melbourne Water Discovery Centre, Melbourne Water Western Treatment Plant.
