Taylors Hills’ blokes are enjoying their new men’s shed, which was officially opened last week by Melton mayor Sophie Ramsey.
The Taylors Hills Men’s Shed, at the Morton Homestead, is an opportunity for men to build friendships with their neighbours and share ideas with other ‘sheddies’.
Cr Ramsey said men’s sheds were great community facilitities where men could speak freely and openly about their health and wellbeing.
“Like its Melton counterpart, the Taylors Hills Men’s Shed has been designed as a place where men can gather, share skills and experiences, contribute to their community and establish friendships and local connections,” Cr Ramsey said.
“I especially want to acknowledge the efforts of all the volunteers who have spent endless hours helping make the Taylors Hills Men’s Shed a reality.”
Melton council contributed $250,000 towards the project and received $60,000 from the former state government.
The men’s shed is at Morton Boulevard, Taylors Hill.
