Feasibility studies were starting for a multi-million dollar sports complex for the city of Sunshine, Cr Vic Parsons said this week.
Cr Parsons holds the portfolio for planning on Sunshine council.
He said that preliminary estimates of the total cost were approximately $7 million.

A 26-year-old Deer Park man was one of three workers severely burned when an ethylene gas line exploded into a ball of flame around them last Friday night. Willi Bock, of Chesley Street, is in a stable condition this week at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. He has been a process instrument mechanic for eight years with Altona Petrochemicals Co Ltd where the explosion occurred.

Brimbank council ratepayers face a possible $3 million increase in garbage collection costs if the council fails in a bid to buy the Jones Road tip in Brooklyn.
Failure to secure the tip would also put expected rate reductions in doubt. The council is pinning its hopes of getting the tip on an unconventional tender it has lodged with the landfill’s owner, Melbourne Water.

Lawyers investigating alleged administrative irregularities in the ALP may recommend that more charges be laid against party officials identified in an internal investigation into branch-stacking in Gorton. A spokesman for the group of ALP members campaigning against branch stacking said more charges were being considered.
