Two women are in hospital after a car smashed into a fruit shop and burst into flames in Clifton Hill on Thursday morning.
The car collided with a ute at the intersection of Queens Parade and Wellington Street in Clifton Hill about 3.30am.
The impact of the smash sent the car careering through the glass doors of the Frootz on Parade store. The car then caught fire.
A man and two women were in the car.
One woman, aged in her 20s, and a woman in her late teens, were both taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with minor back and abdominal injuries.
It is understood the ute was carrying fruit.
The ute driver was not injured.
It took firefighters about 10 minutes to extinguish the flames, but the shop has been left with extensive damage.
