Fun year celebrated

The educators at Swan Childcare Centre in Derrimut are celebrating their first year of looking after Brimbank youngsters.There will be a family fun day, open for all, on April 18. Entertainment at the centre, which looks after children from 55 families, will include an animal farm, jumping castle and face painting. The centre is at B8-4 Castro Way, Derrimut.

Business basics for success

New business owners in Brimbank are invited to register for seminars covering the fundamentals of running a successful business. Seminar topics include marketing basics, the benefits of being online and small-business counselling. Some seminars may incur a fee. Places are limited and registration is essential.

A new mobile print service at Brimbank libraries allows customers to print documents from any mobile device. Android, iPhone, laptop and tablet users can upload their documents to print at any library printer.

Join the band

The Western Region Concert Band rehearses on Saturdays at 9am in the Errington Community Centre, Princess Street, St Albans. Enter by the side gate next to the football oval. Vacancies exist for percussion, brass and sax players. Bring your instrument and play with the band.

Visit the elderly

The multiple sclerosis community visitors scheme needs volunteers in the western metropolitan area to visit elderly residents in aged-care centres to offer companionship once a fortnight. Volunteers who speak other languages, especially Spanish, are particularly needed.
