Tribute to the famous 500
Fiat is taking homage to the original 500 to a new level with the new Fiat 500 Vintage ’57, which made its debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. The Vintage ’57 is finished in pastel blue with a contrasting white roof, spoiler, antenna, mirror covers and distinctive 16-inch vintage alloy wheels. The retro theme continues inside with the white dashboard, historic Fiat logo in the steering wheel and tan-coloured Poltrona Frau leather seats with ivory leather ‘half-moon’ inserts.
Lightning strikes for fan
Holden fan Eu Wyn Wong has triumphed in the Name That Commodore competition launched exclusively on the Holden Facebook page in January. Mr Wyn’s winning entry, Lightning, was a popular suggestion but his was the first. The Commodore SV6 Lightning Special Edition will be available from this month.
Mazda starts on new MX5
Mazda has begun production of the all-new Mazda MX-5 two-seater sports car at a plant in Hiroshima. The first models are destined for the Japanese market but will be progressively rolled out to overseas markets. The MX-5 holds the Guinness World Record for the world’s best-selling two-seater sports car, with more than 950,000 built since 1989.
