Kids from Play Time Family Day Care in St Albans enjoyed a special picnic in the park last week as part of nationwide Parks Week celebrations.
Three-year-old Lela and Adelyn, 1, had lots of fun playing with bubbles at Cliff Harvey Lagoon Reserve in Keilor.
Parks Week is held every year to highlight the importance of parks to health and community life.
Play Time Family Day Care’s Eileen Moran said parks were the perfect playground for kids to have fun, explore, discover and learn.
“Encouraging children to get out from behind the computer and television screens and immerse themselves in our stunning natural environment has health and well-being benefits,” Ms Moran said.
“It’s not just about gaining physical exercise and fresh air but also about appreciating the positive role nature plays in helping our mental and spiritual well-being.”
