Revved up for families at Westside Muscle Cruisers show

A stellar line-up of pre-1980s muscle cars, custom bikes, cracker entertainment and dude food has been lined up for the second Westside Muscle Cruisers show.

Organiser David Grech said last year’s event was a hit.

“It’s a family event,” Mr Grech said.“About 80 per cent of the people here last year came as a family.

“The long-term [goal] is to raise money for local kids’ charities justto give them a hand.”

A Country Fire Authority team will promote fire safety, while those who are feeling ravenous can head over to the Mr Burger van.

“This event is targeting western suburbs motoring enthusiasts who get together, show off their vehicles and talk about what’s involved in building and maintaining these cars and bikes,” Mr Grech said.

“It’s also about using these particular types of vehicles to send the message of public safety on our roads.”

Caroline Springs Autobarn is sponsoring the show and has supplied products to give away.

“I get my inspiration to organise these events from owning a 1967 Pontiac Firebird,” Mr Grech said. “I regularly attend other meetings, but there’s nothing else close by like this that’s family friendly and supports local businesses and charities.”

The show will run from 6-9pm on Saturday, March 14, at the Caroline Springs library carpark off The Parade, Caroline Springs.
