Sunshine West’s KJ floats a grand idea for Moomba parade

Meet the pint-sized designer behind one of this year’s Moomba parade floats.

St Peter’s Catholic Primary School grade 5 pupil ‘KJ’ incorporated his two loves, robots and eating pizza, to create a ‘pizza robot’ float design that will come to life next Monday on one of nine floats that will grace St Kilda Road as part of the annual Moomba parade.

The 10-year-old Sunshine West resident came up with the creative design during a ‘design your own float’ workshop last year.

His robot-riding-on-a-flying-pizza is one of many kids’ designs that will be used on the floats.
