A property tipped to become the first million-dollar sale in Taylors Hill has failed to hit the mark.
The Darwin Street property, spanning 55 squares over a single level, went on the market before Christmas with an asking price of $1.05 million to $1.15 million – double the suburb’s present $515,000 median house price.
The property is under contract for an undisclosed price.
Barry Plant Taylors Lakes director James Hatzimoisis said the property – which includes five bedrooms, three bathrooms, two double garages and an in-ground pool – sold for just under a million dollars.
“It’s still the most expensive property to sell in Taylors Hill; it’s a record breaker.”
Real Estate Institute of Victoria spokesman Paul Bird said that before the Darwin Street sale, at least two Taylors Hill properties had sold for more than $900,000 in the past 12 months.
Meanwhile, million-dollar properties are on the horizon for Sunshine North’s River Valley estate after developers released premium lots with uninterrupted river and valley views earlier this year.
The Riverina release includes eight lots along Riverbend Way, with blocks starting at $495,000 for a 901-square-metre block and jumping to $590,000 for a corner block of 1147 square metres.
