Station parking closes

As many as 60 car spaces will be blocked off at St Albans railway station car park until February 13 as part of rail and utility services relocation works. Public Transport Victoria has confirmed the start of works to remove the Main Road level crossing, which will happen in two stages. Alternative parking will be available at Keilor Plains station. Details: 1800 800 007.

Car collides, flips

A red car speeding along Caroline Springs Boulevard clipped another vehicle and flipped on its roof on January 18. Police believe the vehicle was travelling well above the 60km/h speed limit when it hit the rear of a stationary and vacant car. The red car mounted The Groves intersection roundabout before hitting a sign and then rolling. Its 32-year-old driver received non-life threatening injuries and was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital. Melton police will investigate the collision and may possibly lay charges.

Grants to boost fitness

Previously successful applicant groups have included Hillside Football Club, Sydenham Park Soccer Club and Caroline Springs Scout Group. This round of funding will close on February 13.
