A group of Caroline Chisholm Catholic College students were all smiles last week after making a donation to Sunshine Hospital’s children’s ward.
Year 9 students Kiet Huynh, Harrison La, Leuel Yemata, Jesse Barraga and Patrick Bacungan presented a giant cheque for $1310 to Western Health Foundation’s Simon Flowerdew last Wednesday.
The Braybrook campus students hosted a fundraising soccer tournament between their own and the Sacred Heart campus at the height of the World Cup.
Patrick said the students were thrilled to exceed their fundraising goal of $500.
“It’s amazing how we managed to raise that much in gold coins,” he said.
Kiet, who has had asthma since the age of three and is a patient at Sunshine Hospital about twice a year, said it was great to be able to give back.
