Young parents

Are you a parent aged 16-25 who wants to meet other young parents in your area, to take your children on outings and share fun kids’ activities? Groups meet at no cost in Laverton on Mondays from 10-11.30am, Altona Meadows on Mondays from 1-2.30pm, and Sunshine on Fridays from 12.30-2.30pm.

Studios open to artists

Expressions of interest are being sought from artists working in various genres. There are vacancies for them at both Deer Park and Sunshine Artist Space studios. Applications are due by 5pm, Friday, November 21.

SES trivia night

Brimbank State Emergency Service is hosting a trivia night from 7.30 on Friday, November 28, at Westend Market Hotel, 47 McIntyre Road, Sunshine. The session will include raffles, silent auctions, live auctions, and games. Tickets are $16, or $100 for a table of 10. Bring your own food and snacks, drinks at bar prices.

Get social, seniors

Semi-retired and senior residents from Hillside, Sydenham and Keilor who are seeking social interaction and club activities are invited to Taylors Lakes Probus Club’s monthly meetings at Taylors Lakes Hotel between 10am and noon on the last calendar Monday.

Keep fit at U3A Brimbank

Join our free exercise class for residents aged 50 and over each Tuesday morning from 9.30 to 10.30 at Westvale Community Centre. Classes includes basic exercise, Pilates and yoga.

Sip ’n’ Stitch

Join this social group for crafty people who meet and chat over a cup of coffee on the first Thursday of each month at Sydenham library, Taylors Lakes, from 11.30am.

Looking for beat ’n’ brass

The Western Region Concert Band is looking for percussion, brass and sax players. They rehearse from 9am on Saturdays in the Errington Community Centre, St Albans. Enter via side gate next to the football oval.

Keilor Garden Club meets on last Friday of the month at the Keilor Primary School, Kennedy Street, at 8pm. Meet other gardeners and share your experience; young people are encouraged to join in.
