MOAMA: Two dead after shooting

Two people are dead after a shooting in Moama, just north of the Victoria-NSW border.

Deniliquin police crime manager Inspector Peter Hayes, who is the officer in charge of the inquiry, has confirmed that a man and a woman have been killed.

About 9.20am, police and emergency services were called to a property on Old Deniliquin Road after reports that the bodies had been found.

Deniliquin police located the bodies near a car on the side of the road.

The property is now a crime scene with members of the NSW Homicide Squad assisting local Deniliquin police in the investigation

Old Deniliquin Road has been closed and a crime scene established.

Police urged anybody with information about the deaths to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
