An eight-hectare Keilor property has been sold for $2.8 million, the highest for Brimbank this year.
Star Weekly had reported that the Overnewton property’s sale could set a record for Brimbank.
The five-bedroom was bought by a local family who would move in over the next few months. The period-style property includes a house with polished mahogany floorboards, an in-ground pool and spa, and floodlit turfed tennis court.
Barry Plant Taylors Lakes director James Hatzimoisis said the property, which had been on the market for less than a month, had generated considerable interest.
“A lot of people were talking about the property, but ultimately when offers closed, these people negotiated a strong offer and the vendors were happy to sell,” he said.
The sale has more than doubled Brimbank’s previous sale record this year: a four-bedroom property on Eagling Street in Keilor Village sold for $1.358 million in June.
