Young virtuosos from a Delahey music school will take to the stage for two charity shows later this month.
More than 120 pupils from the Music Education Academy (MEA) will be part of the annual fundraising concerts. They will be playing the piano, guitar, keyboard and violin, and, for the first time, the children will sing.
MEA director Lorenzo Capitanio says the performances will showcase the school’s talented pupils, some as young as three, while raising money for The Smith Family.
“Our kids are always ecstatic at the chance to perform, and this is a way they can bring joy to their friends and family as well as give back to the community,” he says. Mr Capitanio says the concerts will include numbers from Disney’s Frozen, as well as pop and classical songs.
Children have been rehearsing for about 10 weeks.
“The youngest students are doing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and there’s just so much energy in it.”
MEA’s annual show is at Taylors Lakes Hotel, 7 Melton Highway, at 1.30pm and 3.30pm on October 26.
Tickets will be available at the door and cost $5. For more details, phone 9310 9532.
