Sunshine artist Rafael de la Paz prides himself on his versatility, bringing “a little bit of everything” together in his recent exhibition of 17 paintings.
The Artwork And Poetry collection, on display at Sunshine Art Spaces since October 8, is a mix of experimental and classical pieces.
“I’ll be doing this style … then tomorrow I’ll be on to another style,” the 64-year-old says. “I’m inspired by anything that catches the eye and mind.”
The exhibition charts the artist’s creative development and is complemented by heartfelt prose that muses about love, injustice and change.
An artist for 10 years, de la Paz is a member of the MREAM Studios and the Western Art Group, which meets on a weekly basis at the Hunt Club Community Art Centre.
Artwork And Poetry will be open daily from 1-5pm until October 25.
The Hunt Club Community Art Centre will also host an exhibition titled
Curator’s Choice: Sport In Sunshine from October 17.
The exhibition covers the history of sport in Sunshine and features memorabilia from tennis, lawn bowls, cricket and AFL events held at Selwyn Park in Albion.
