Janev Aziz knows how to throw a memorable girls’ night in.
The Cairnlea resident and her daughter Yasemin hosted their first Girls’ Night In for the Cancer Council last year, drawing in 150 ladies for an afternoon of entertainment and raising $10,000.
This year, they’re hoping to go bigger and better. And they’re even helping out the blokes by donating $5000 of their proceeds to prostate cancer research.
Ms Aziz said, “Breast and prostate cancer can happen to any of us at any time, and if we can do our little bit towards helping find a cure, it’s important.”
This year, she has organised a bigger venue able to hold up to 400 people and has arranged a DJ, beauticians performing massages and manicures, home-made food stalls and other entertainment. There will also be raffles and silent auctions, with donated items including high tea for four people at the Langham Melbourne, a day-long cruise for six people and a 12-month Derrimut Gym membership.
Girls’ Night In is on Sunday, October 26, 2-6pm at the North Cyprus Turkish Community Hall, 547 Ballarat Road, Sunshine. Tickets are $15.
