First aid firey plan

Caroline Springs and Melton CFA firefighters will attend to cardiac
arrests and non-breathing patients alongside paramedics if Labor wins November’s state election. The opposition has promised to fund specialist training for full-time firefighters. Defibrillators will also be installed on fire trucks.

Computer boost for kinders

Four Brimbank kindergartens – Sunshine South, Fairbairn Road,
Kellie O’Connell and Sunshine Heights – have each received $1500 to upgrade their IT facilities and improve administration.

Free breast cancer checks

Brimbank women aged 50 or older are being encouraged to book for a free breast screen. Recent figures show just 53 per cent of women in Brimbank are tested regularly. BreastScreen Victoria recommends screens be undertaken every two years. Next month is National Breast Cancer Awareness month.
