Fancy footwork ruled at Overnewton Anglican Community College’s Keilor campus last week when the Asian Cup came to town.
College students Stephanie Gouder and Jessica Farrugia were among those who hosted friendly games against the Keilor division All Stars comprising students from Victoria University Secondary College, St Albans Secondary College, Keilor Downs College, Copperfield College, Sunshine College, Gilson College and Taylors Lakes Secondary College.
The Asian Cup trophy was flown in from Sydney, while Melbourne Victory players came to cheer the teams on.
Overnewton dominated on the day, its girls winning 3-0 against Keilor All Stars, the boys by 4-2.
The AFC Asian Cup series, to be hosted in Australia next January 9-15, will be the biggest soccer tournament Australia has ever hosted.
