Limber up, seniors

Join our free exercise class for residents who are 50 and over each Tuesday morning from 9.30-10.30am at Westvale Community Centre. The classes include basic exercise, Pilates and yoga.

Open day

West Lakes Grammar School, corner Lake Street and Caroline Springs Boulevard, Caroline Springs, invites families to an open day on Saturday, September 13, from 11am to 4pm. Meet the principal, take a tour, and/or enrol for 2015. There will be a sausage sizzle and outdoor fun. West Lakes Grammar, a non-denominational school, opens next February for years 7 and 8.

Sunshine Lantern Festival

Hampshire Road will bustle with roving street performers, entertainment, children’s rides, jumping castles, market stalls, street food, face-painting, lantern-making and buskers as part of Sunshine’s Lantern Festival on Saturday, September 6, from 10am to 8pm.

Sunshine Short Film Festival

Entries are open for Sunshine’s Short Film Festival. Budding filmmakers can submit films of under five minutes and with the themes ‘Sunshine’ and ‘Halloween’. $5000 prizemoney and the chance to have your film screened at Village Sunshine Megaplex are on offer. Entries close September 30.
