Teens arrested over crime spree

Sunshine police have arrested and charged three 16-year-old boys over a crime spree across the northern and western suburbs. Sergeant Mark Guthrie, of the Sunshine crime investigation unit, said police arrested the three youths on August 25 in a stolen car in Sunshine. Two of them have been charged with theft of motor vehicles, offences connected with police pursuits and eight armed robberies. The third teen was charged with one armed robbery, one aggravated burglary and other offences. Sergeant Guthrie said the crime spree took place in Ascot Vale, Campbellfield, Kings Park, Deer Park, Albion and Hillside. Most offences occurred at service stations. Sergeant Guthrie said the teens, who came from Sunshine, Croydon and Parkville, had all been remanded in custody.
