UPDATE: A woman has been arrested and charged after allegedly threatening to bomb the Myer flagship department store in the Bourke Street Mall.
Myer and David Jones were forced to evacuate customers and staff about 1pm on Saturday after a phone caller said a bomb was going to go off.
Police said the phone call to triple-0 caused a “massive disruption” to traders, with the mall closing for about two hours.
Police arrested a 39-year-old Collingwood woman about 12.55am on Sunday, and charged her with causing a bomb hoax, falsely reporting a bomb threat to the police and using a telecommunications device to menace.
She has been remanded in custody, and was expected to appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court later on Sunday.
