Nicole Condos has been part of public relations campaigns most professionals can only dream about.
The Taylors Lakes resident has been involved in after-parties for the Logies and the Formula One Grand Prix, big Melbourne events such as the L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival and Swim Fashion Week, and she was responsible for turning clothing chain Ed Hardy Australia from an unknown brand to being ranked number six by BRW magazine’s Fast 100.
Now she’s using her skills to spruik her own line, Candles by Nikoletta.
The range includes 13 signature fragrances inspired by traditional Greek influences, including ouzo, turkish delight, cucumber and mint, and almond.
In a further nod to her Greek heritage, the soy candles are presented in traditional Greek coffee cups or glasses.
“I’ve always wanted a product of my own,” Ms Condos said.
“I’ve spent my whole career boosting the profile of other businesses and other products, and I wanted to infuse my creativity and passion for Greece through my own product.
“When you smell something, it can remind you of a memory or a holiday, and I was really selective in what fragrances I chose because I wanted to evoke the nostalgia of a holiday, or cooking with your mum or grandma in the kitchen.
“To finally see it come together is a great reward.”
The 33-year-old, who also runs public relations firm Material Girl PR, is currently selling her range on Facebook and plans to open an online store later this year.
