It’s official – Brimbank is the most sustainable city in Australia.
Brimbank was named Sustainable City of the Year and won the ‘community action and leadership’ and ‘waste management’ divisions of the recent Keep Australia Beautiful awards.
Brimbank administrators chairman John Watson said the city’s sustainable highlights of the year included its Be A Brimbank Gem program, which encouraged householders to allocate rubbish into recyclable and non-recyclable bins, and its Sustainable Living Expo.
“It’s a fantastic achievement that places the Brimbank municipality at the leading edge of sustainability performance nationally,” Mr Watson said.
