Sunshine Make-A-Wish ball: Glitz, glamour and goodwill

Sunshine will channel Hollywood’s golden age when a Make-A-Wish ball comes to town next month.

A red carpet for people dressed as movie stars will help raise money for Make-A-Wish Australia, which grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.

Make-A-Wish Australia has granted more than 8000 wishes since 1985.

Melton South resident Kelly Bruce is a foundation member of the western Melbourne branch. The branch has helped grant more than 60 wishes since it formed in 2000.

Ms Bruce said wishes granted to western suburbs children ranged from trips to Disneyland and New York to puppies, bikes and cameras.

The ball, on Saturday, August 30, at Sheldon Receptions in Sunshine, will include a three-course meal, silent auction and raffles.

“It’s a really sparkly venue, and it gives people the chance to dress up and have a good night,” Ms Bruce said.

Tickets cost $90. For details, phone 0417 381 900 or visit www.stickytickets.com.au/18203
