Sunbury Road crash kills two
Police are investigating the circumstances around a fatal crash that claimed the lives of two men near Melbourne Airport last week. Investigators believe a blue Holden was travelling north-west on Sunbury Road when the driver lost control and collided with two oncoming vehicles about 5.15pm last Wednesday. Two male occupants of one of the other vehicles were killed, while the driver of the Holden was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with serious injuries. Crime Stoppers on

WW2 airman honoured
Gorton MP Brendan O’Connor last week delivered a certificate of appreciation to Caroline Springs resident Maureen Clark, whose father, Charles William Mayman, served as a Leading Aircraftman in the Royal Australian Air Force during the Second World War. Leading Aircraftman Mayman joined the RAAF in 1943 at the age of 21, serving for three years. “It’s important to recognise the actions of those who fought to protect Australia in that conflict,” Mr O’Connor said.
