Keilor Park’s Little Athletics track has had a makeover. A new tiered viewing area overlooking the track gives families and friends an all-weather vantage point from which to cheer young athletes. The Keilor Little Athletics Club will host the north metropolitan region finals for the first time in February next year. Club special events co-ordinator Pauline Barker said the Brimbank council-funded viewing area, which includes synthetic grass, was a great addition. “It’ll mean the parents have a better level of comfort when watching their kids compete,” she said. The club will begin taking new registrations in August and hopes to build on its 450-plus membership following this month’s Commonwealth Games. More details at www.keilorlac.org.au Charlene Macaulay
