A train has derailed between Southern Cross and North Melbourne stations.
The long-distance Country Link train departed Southern Cross Station at 8.30am on Friday bound for Sydney, and was about 3km out of the station when two carriages derailed.
The derailed carriages are still upright.
No one was injured in the derailment and passengers are being taken off the train and put on buses for the rest of their journey.
V/Line services to Albury will be disrupted by the derailment but no other services will be affected, a V/Line spokeswoman said.
