Big game on the big screen

Brimbank residents can watch soccer’s World Cup final at Village Cinemas in Sunshine next Monday. Kick-off is at 5am. Guests are being encouraged to make a gold coin donation, with proceeds going to the White Ribbon Foundation.

Make a greener Brimbank

Brimbank council is inviting residents to take part in a massive tree-planting session at Sydenham Park from 10am to 3pm on Sunday, July 27. The council hopes 3000 trees will be planted on the banks of Maribyrnong River to renew a degraded area.

Arts space planning

Residents can provide feedback on Brimbank council’s plans to build a performing arts space in St Albans. A 200-seat auditorium will be built in 2016. Community meetings will be held at the Hunt Club Community Arts Centre in Deer Park at 3pm and 6pm on Tuesday, July 15, and at St Albans Connect’s office at 3pm and 6pm on Thursday, July 17. Website, app mean business

Sunshine Business Association launched a new smartphone app and website at Sunshine’s Visy Cares hub last Tuesday. The website and phone app will provide listings for 420 businesses across Sunshine and updates on local events and festivals. For more details, visit www.sunshinebusiness.com.au.
