FFA Cup: Melbourne Knights book last spot with win over South Melbourne

Melbourne Knights will be away to Brisbane’s Olympic FC in the first round of the national FFA Cup.

The Knights qualified for the 32-team knockout competition by beating South Melbourne 2-0 in the quarter-finals of the Dockerty Cup at Lakeside Stadium.

The date and venue for the Olympic-Knights match will be announced this week.

After a tense and scoreless first 40 minutes, Tomislav Uskok found himself on the end of a pass from Stipo Andrijasevic and scored to give the Knights a 1-0 half-time lead.

The Knights continued to apply pressure to the South Melbourne defenders in the second half and Andrijasevic set up Shayan Alinejad for the second goal.
