Nurse’s legacy of hope for Australian Rotary Health

It’s not every day someone donates nearly $400,000 to charity. But that’s what retired nurse Judith Thompson has done, after leaving $393,777.71 in her will to Australian Rotary Health.

Ms Thompson, who had no immediate family, wanted to do some good with her money and sought the advice of executor David Whiting, who is a Keilor Rotary member, when writing her will.

Ms Thompson died in December last year and left almost all of her estate to Australian Rotary Health for investigations and research into bowel cancer.

Keilor Rotary will formally present a cheque to Australian Rotary Health at its weekly meeting on Tuesday to mark Ms Thompson’s generosity.
