Fine food, fun and fundraising were on the menu at Eat Street, the gourmet charity gala held at Sofitel Melbourne On Collins on Tuesday, May 27.
Sofitel Melbourne was transformed into an exciting and tantalising French playground as 700 guests enjoyed signature dishes from 50 of Melbourne’s top chefs, wineries and food and beverage suppliers, to raise funds for children’s cancer charity Redkite.
Restaurants involved in Eat Street 2014 included Coda, Estelle Bar and Kitchen, Saint Crispin, Hellenic Republic, Ezard, Le Grand Cirque, Huxtable, Sails On The Bay, Spoonbill at the Olsen, Union Food and Wine, The Point, Bottega, Pei Modern, Allium Food and Wine, No35, Château Yering, The Baths Middle Brighton, Zaza’s Cucina, Cumulus Inc, Le Petit Gateau, A La Folie, and Ganache Chocolate.
Sofitel’s entire first floor was turned into a French-inspired playground for the evening, with Sofi’s Lounge taking on a Parisian garden feel, the LaTrobe Ballroom drawing inspiration from the Moulin Rouge and the Grand Ballroom taking on a French cafe society theme.
Guests including George Donikian, Lee Chan, Rebecca Bramich, Stefan Denis, Ryan Moloney Mike Larkan, and Damien Bodie were entertained by Lisa Edwards. The Project’s Gorgi Coghlan was the event MC.
Now in its 15th year, Eat Street brings together Melbourne’s leading chefs, wine and beverage companies with each provide entrée-sized servings and samples of their signature dishes and drinks.
