Say cheese! Junior students at Overnewton Anglican College’s Taylors Lakes campus have been busy raising smiles as part of the Starlight Foundation’s Smile Project.
The initiative encourages kids to perform simple acts of kindness to make others grin.
Family and friends have sponsored the smile makers, with all proceeds going to the Starlight Foundation.
“Collecting smiles and helping others makes me feel lucky that I’m healthy and happy and that I can help another child,” house captain Ebony Strati said.
Teacher Joanne Hazelton added: “It’s important for our students to understand the importance of how wonderful it can be to make another person happy.”
The Starlight Foundation supports seriously ill children in hospitals around Australia. It’s aiming for $1.5 million from this month’s fund-raiser.
