Brimbank Writers Awards: Authors given write of way

Budding scribes are being encouraged to enter this year’s Brimbank Writers Awards.

More than $3500 in prizes is on offer for talented writers who live, work or study in the municipality. This year’s awards feature categories for best adult short story, teenage short story, adult and teenage poetry, and songwriting.

The awards are part of the Brimbank Writers Festival, which includes workshops with renowned writers such as Abbie Cardwell.

Entries for the awards open June 2 and close July 11. The awards will be presented at the Visy Cares Hub in Sunshine on September 15.
