St Albans park a prize addition in Brimbank

Children like Shaun, 6, are on to a winner.

Brimbank council was honoured three times at this month’s Parks and Leisure Australia awards, receiving gongs for Alice’s Playspace at Errington Reserve in St Albans, for staging the annual Brimbank Cup multicultural soccer tournament, and for an online sports facility allocation program.

The projects are in the running for the National Parks and Leisure awards, which will be announced in late August.

Alice’s Playspace, which opened in July last year, was designed by the council and the Touched by Olivia Foundation to encourage kids to play alongside each other, regardless of their abilities.
