The man, believed to be aged in his mid 20s, suffered a gunshot wound to his lower body at a property in North Road just after 10.30am, a police spokeswoman said.

An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said the man was taken to The Alfred hospital in a stable condition. His injuries are not life-threatening.

Police say the men are known to each other but would not comment on the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
