EDFL: Keilor Park Devils let it slip when it matters

Keilor Park led at the end of every quarter except the one that mattered in the Essendon District Football League division 2 match against Coburg Districts on Saturday.

Coburg kicked five goals to the Devils’ two goals in the final term at Keilor Park Reserve to turn a seven-point three-quarter deficit into a 13.8 (86) to 10.15 (75) win.

The Devils started well with seven scoring shots in the first term but let themselves down by kicking only 2.5.

The second term saw the Devils extend their lead to 15 in a low-scoring quarter.

Coburg hit back in the third term with six goals and continued that into the fourth quarter.

Ben Ryan kicked three for the Devils, while Andrew Porco was best

In other division 2 matches, East Keilor defeated Jacana by 96 points, 20.14 (134) to 5.8 (38), while Moonee Valley was too strong for Burnside Heights, winning by 133 points, 25.18 (168) to 4.11 (35).
