HAVE A BLAST AT THE MILL

The Friends of the Black Powder Mill will explain the work that was carried out at the former Albion Explosives Factory site. Enjoy a tour of the mill from 10am on Saturday, May 3, as part of the National Trust Heritage Festival. Bookings required. Corner of Parklea Avenue and Grassy Point Road, Cairnlea.

VOLUNTEER WEEK

Brimbank council will host four information sessions for people interested in becoming volunteers as part of National Volunteer Week, May 12-18. Sessions will be held from 11am to 1pm at the Westvale Community Centre in St Albans on Tuesday, May 13; West Sunshine Community Centre on Wednesday, May 14; Sunshine library on Thursday, May 15; and Sydenham Community Hub on Friday, May 16.

ON DISPLAY

Two exhibitions are open at the Hunt Club Community Arts Centre until May 4. My Father’s Legacy by Robyn Sims is a testament to a passion for drawing instilled in her by her father. And a World War 1 exhibition, Remembering: 100 Years On, includes elements from various collections. It explores individual stories that serve as points of reference to the war. Monday-Thursday 9am-5.30pm, Friday 9am-4.30pm, and Saturday 9am- noon.
