DOVETON: Woman’s brutal murder still a mystery

The brutal murder of a 34-year-old woman whose body was found in a pool of blood in Doveton in early April remains a mystery.

Rani Featherston’s body was found in an industrial area in Lace Street with wounds to her head and upper body that police believe were caused during a violent struggle that ended in her death.

Factory workers found her body about 7am on April 2.

A Victoria Police spokeswoman said the investigation was ongoing.

An edged weapon police believe was used in the crime has not been found and there are no plans for an information caravan to be set up to seek further public assistance, the spokeswoman said.

Ms Featherston lived near to where her body was found and police have said she was well known in the area.

Anyone with information has been asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or go to www.crimestoppers.com.au
