A free playgroup is helping young children connect in Braybrook.
Maribyrnong council has partnered with MacKillop Family Services and Central West to create a playgroup at the shopping centre.
MacKillop chief executive Micaela Cronin said having the group, named Central West Play, in the centre enabled access for families who might miss out on other playgroups.
The group has been active since October, attracting up to 15 families per session.
“It allows children to experience vital learning through play and enables parents to socialise, create friendships and learn more about local services,” Ms Cronin said.
Maribyrnong mayor Grant Miles said Central West Play was also a way to provide parents with information about important early-years services.
The playgroup runs 10am-noon on Tuesdays during school terms for families with children aged five and under.
