Police are investigating the suspicious death of a man found in a street in Pakenham.
Ambulance officers were called to help the man found in Kosta Boda Boulevard, Pakenham, at 10.10pm on Tuesday.
An Ambulance Victoria spokesman said the man, 20, was in cardiac arrest when they arrived and despite attempting to revive the man for 40 minutes, he died.
Homicide squad detectives on Wednesday were at the scene and investigating the death. Police are treating it as suspicious.
A short time later, at 11pm, ambulance officers were called to the foyer of an apartment in Royal Parade, Parkville, to treat a man who was shot several times in the upper body.
The man, 35, was taken to nearby Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Police are investigating the shooting.
