St Albans teenager body slammed, knocked unconscious for his cap

Police are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery in St Albans on Sunday afternoon where a teenage boy was knocked unconscious.

A 15-year-old boy from St Albans was walking in a grassland reserve between Yarmouth Avenue and Oleander Drive around 5pm when he was approached by another youth who demanded that he hand over his Monster brand baseball cap.

When the teenager refused, three other youths approached the pair and took the victim over to a bench seat where one of the youths produced a flick knife.

The youth with the knife told the victim if he didn’t hand over his hat he would stab him.

The youth who originally spoke to the victim, stood up and grabbed the victim, body slamming him to the ground.

The victim lost consciousness and while he was on the ground one of the youths took his baseball cap.

When the victim awoke, he made his way home where he was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital with a dislocated shoulder.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 18000 333 000 or visit  www.crimestoppers.com.au
