It’s been a long time since Keilor resident Scott Vallis felt the cold chill of the wind on his skull, but come March 13 he will have his hair lopped off for the World’s Greatest Shave, which raises funds for blood cancer research.
The 52-year-old, who keeps his hair manageable by visiting the hairdresser every eight to 10 weeks, thinks it’s time for a change.
“It’s time for it to go, and I thought, if you can raise money for a good cause at the same time, it’s a worthy thing to do,” he says.
Mr Vallis is a little nervous, convinced he’ll look a lot like all “the bald blokes I know”, but may as well go the whole hog. “In for a penny, in for a pound.”
