A man and a woman in their 20s have been arrested in Croydon, following a police hunt for a man who threatened officers with a firearm at a Chirnside Park shopping centre.
A Victoria Police spokeswoman said the officers were conducting a routine intercept at about 2.40pm Wednesday, when the man threatened them with a firearm.
She said the air wing, dog squad and local police were dispatched to find the man.
Police later cordoned off a section of Donald Street in Croydon, believing the man was inside a home in the street.
Police then moved to nearby Nyandra Court, where a man and woman were arrested at about 9pm Wednesday.
The spokeswoman said the man and woman were assisting police with their inquiries.
